CHILDREN AS CHANGE AGENTS IN VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES
Brief
We organised a series of design workshops with the children of Mammadu Trust, daycare in Otjomuise, Windhoek, Namibia. Otjomuise is an informal settlement of Windhoek composed mainly of sheet-metal shacks which have no running water, toilets or electricity.
During the workshops, we tried to tackle local problems related to Otjomuise lifestyle. Through the application of Design Thinking tools and methods, children identified opportunities and solutions to waste and water issues in their own community and to the local school.
